Private Practice Business Basics

Practice Business Basics (we will cover basics of accounting, tax deductions and estimating taxes)
Know what to expect when hiring or managing a group practice (will cover how to hire, how to determine pay, aspects of paying workers, but this excludes solo owners for the most part)
Be prepared for estimated taxes for the year (will cover all aspects of estimated taxes)
Taxes, Deductions & Retirement (will cover bookkeeping, accounting and retirement)

About the Presenter

Jennie Schottmiller, CPA, LMFT, is the founder of Simple Profit, where she helps health and wellness professionals understand accounting, taxes, and financial management in plain language. Drawing on her unique experience as both a CPA and family therapist, Jennie brings a practical and approachable perspective to the business side of private practice. This session will cover basics of Financial Planning when owning a private practice. Learn how to best structure your business and navigate investment strategies for both your practice and personal goals.

Business structures (sole proprietor vs. LLC vs. non-profit)
Retirement savings options (SEP IRA, solo 401k)
Employee benefits (retirement & health)
