Personal Statement - Sponsor
I believe the decision to explore one's own issues, in the safety of therapy, is one of the most lasting gifts you can give to oneself. It is a Transformative Journey. Whether you are seeking better communication and connection with your family, friends or co-workers, or attempting to grieve and recover from a profound loss, therapy is an investment in you.
Most people enter therapy because they are in some kind of pain. What previously worked to decrease pain, no longer serves them well. Or, for some clients, their life circumstances may bring such unexpected changes, they now need new tools in order to cope more effectively.
My intention is to provide a sanctuary for one to explore and resolve their specific concerns. Clients work on their relationship to themselves and their relationship to others. I work well with those who desire deeper relationship connections. One can learn how to best partner oneself as well as one's partner. In addition, some common issues are depression, anxiety, fear, abuse, anger management, eating disorders, grief & loss, and life transitions (graduation, engagement, marriage, birth, separation, divorce, empty nest, death, and other rites of passage.)
Other issues explored in the safety of therapy may include coping with aging parents, career, addiction, extramarital affairs, panic attacks, health issues, retirement preparation and adjustment as well as spiritual issues.
My private practice is richly diverse as I welcome people from different beliefs, countries, ethnicities, sexual orientations and perspectives that reflect traditional as well as nontraditional. All are welcome!
I see adults in individual therapy, as they bridge their current situation and their ideal. I honor each client's unique pacing. In addition to "talk therapy", I utilize Guided Imagery and Dream Work.
PLEASE NOTE: I AM SEMI-RETIRED AND NO LONGER ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS.
