Your first years of clinical practice offer important learning experiences. This also is true for young children. The impact you can make during this early period will last a lifetime for a young child. The Kidango Early Childhood Mental Health State Preschool Consultation program offers you an internship experience in delivering early childhood behavioral health within the preschool setting. You will have direct contact with young children from ages 2-5 within the context of their teacher, parent and other caregiver relationships. You will support the youngest and most diverse members of the community shaping their emotional and relational well-being as well as learning potential for life.

You will gain vital child hours working with toddlers and preschoolers in school-based setting; gain experience that will be foundational for the rest of your clinical career; learn about early child development, early attachment, trauma and much more; receive comprehensive training and supervision (individual & group) in early childhood mental health from clinical supervisor who possesses training, credentials and expertise in this specialty area; earn a $2000 stipend upon completing the 12-month (minimum) internship year. Internship assignment options in Santa Clara, Alameda and Contra Costa county.

If you have your graduate degree and are looking for a private practice setting to gain hours of supervision and clinical training, this is the place! I have been in private practice for more than 20+ years, and am NOT on any preferred provider networks because of my specialty practice. I got my MFT license more than 20 years ago, then my AASECT-certification, and my PhD in clinical psychology. I have been fortunate to be in the "right place at the right time" and have built a very nice private practice, with an emphasis in sexual medicine. This means that I work mostly with physicians in helping patients learn to relax and have better functioning/lifestyles/fertility, etc. I am now in the "golden years" and thinking about retiring, and don't want to leave my patients or referring physicians "high and dry". Hence, I would like to find someone as passionate about learning to help others, as I have been for the past 20+ years! If this sounds like something of interest to you, please call or text me at (408) 891-7630. Warmly, Linda Banner, PhD
