Substance Use Manager
Works within the vision, mission and philosophy of the agency and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). Under minimal supervision and in partnership with all CCBHC leadership, manages, oversees, and ensures successful implementation of the full range of substance use services (drop-in center, prevention, treatment, and recovery supports) in school, clinic, and community based settings for youth and adults.
Substance Use Treatment
1.    Support Youth Services Recovery Support Coordinator, Peer Mentors, Addiction Specialists in delivery all aspects of substance use treatment.
2.    Ensure availability of the full range of substance use treatment for the CCBHC (drop-in center, prevention, treatment, recovery supports, positive youth development).
3.    Partner with external resources to provide not directly provided by Uplift Family Services or the CCBHC.
4.    Provide evidence-based secondary and tertiary interventions.
5.    Conduct trainings and presentations to internal and external audiences.
6.    Provides after-hours on-call crisis response/consultation.
7.    Works with the treatment team to provide appropriate coordinated care services to clients and their families.
8.    Works with a multicultural team sensitive to the cultural and linguistic needs of the clients and families served.
9.    Models Agency's approach, mission and core values in all communication and correspondence.
10.    Communicates effectively in a culturally competent and diverse consumer population and promotes favorable interaction with managers, co-workers and others.
11.    Consults with clinical and medical staff about treatment plans, youth and family issues, progress, and needs.
1.    Identify gaps in services, initiate and foster relationships to develop MOUs (e.g., schools and other public-systems, residential treatments, etc) to ensure the full range of substance use services for youth, adults, and their families.
2.    Support referral between and within Uplift Family Services, the CCBHC, and external partners.
Administration and Management
1.    Develops and supervises staff including hiring, coaching, training, disciplining, and terminating.
2.    Participates in the training of agency staff about substance abuse awareness, alcohol and other drug problems, as well as general prevention issues.
3.    Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures including adherence to all licensing, quality, and regulatory standards.
4.    Ensures clinical documentation and quality assurance meet both agency and payor standards, including audit ready charts and continuous quality improvement.
5.    Manages operations including utilization of resources, such as all administrative electronic systems.
6.    Ensure direct reports meet applicable productivity and documentation requirements.
7.    Attends and participates in staff meetings to provide input towards program development and staff training.
8.    Interacts with other internal programs, clinical/support staff and external sources such as school or community personnel as applicable.
9.    Reports to work on time and maintains reliable and regular attendance.
1.    Practices self-care, remains aware that others may be contending with stress, and treats other with grace.
2.    Driving to appointments with clients and their families or other key contacts.
3.    Physical interactions with children of variable ages such as but not limited to games, sports, and other activities.
4.    Performs other related responsibilities as assigned to support specific department/business needs.

•    Bachelor's Degree (BA/ BS) in Behavioral/Social Science required.
•    Master’s Degree (MA/ MS) in related field preferred.
•    Licensed (MFT, LCSW) preferred.
•    Spanish-speaking preferred.
•    Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in drug and alcohol abuse treatment programs required.
•    Current knowledge of drug and alcohol programs and willingness to sustain continuous learning of those programs required.
•    First Aid/CPR Certification required.
•    CCAPP - California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals
•    Certified Alcohol and other Drug Addiction Counselor (CAADAC) certification preferred
•    Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Child Abuse Index Check (CAIC) background clearance.
•    Valid California Driver's license with two years experience driving and clean driving record may be required.
