Personal Statement
I specialize in relationships, life transitions and grief/loss, with additional in-depth trainings to work effectively with couples and families. As a Certified Hakomi Therapist (CHT), I integrate mindfulness, somatic work and compassion with my other in-depth trainings in couple therapy and relational work (family system approaches, Gottman Method Level III, Terry Real's RLT, IFS, EFT, Stan Tatkin's PACT, etc). I work frequently with cultural, multigenerational and other systemic conflicts and traumas that can lead to or present as depression/anxiety, addiction, low self-esteem, relational conflicts, parenting challenges, career difficulties, etc. Prior to psychotherapy, I had a career with top law firms and investment bank which has helped me deeply appreciate the stress and complexity in the work/life dynamics facing many families, sometimes seemingly as a result of their very own success.
In my work with couples and with complex grief, I help clients safely experience emotions, identify distress patterns, challenge assumptions, develop coping skills and recreate meaning and connections. I also work with relationship/phase-of-life transitions, such as young adulthood, becoming parents, parenting adolescents, forming step families, etc.
