South Region Luncheon
Presented by Vicki Goodman, LMFT
The goal of this presentation is to provide education on all end of life options, with emphasis on the CA End of Life Option Act and the requirements of the aid-in-dying law. In addition, this presentation will provide resources and tools as well as reflection that will guide health care professionals in providing a safe container for clients to have conversations around death and dying. Becoming aware of the importance of self-exploration regarding one's own acceptance of medical aid in dying will be part of the discussion.
At the end of this presentation, attendees will be able to:
1. Identify and describe eligibility requirements for medical aid in dying
2. List the clinical criteria for medical aid in dying
3. Distinguish the key aspects of aid in dying and suicide and differentiate
4. Respond compassionately to requests for medical aid in dying
