Presented by  Tom Henning, JD, LLM, MA

This special program addresses the legal and tax implications of how you conduct your private practice, including the use of a sole proprietorship or professional corporation. Whether you are new to private practice or have been doing it for years, these issues are complicated and can feel overwhelming. A clear understanding of what form of business is most suitable for you will help relieve stress and anxiety around this subject. This workshop addresses questions you have, as well as ones you may not have even considered:

  • Am I missing out on ways to save taxes?
  • How do I reduce the likelihood of a tax audit?
  • How can I limit my personal liability?
  • Can I create a company that enhances my brand?
  • Can I have a distinctive trademark or tradename without incorporating?

Let’s even out the learning curve a bit. This presentation will leave you with a better understanding of alternative ways of conducting your practice and a clearer sense of your legal and tax options.

Tom Henning practiced law for over 40 years as a tax and corporate lawyer specializing in business organizations before becoming a therapist. Tom was an adjunct professor in tax law at Loyola Law School for 15 years. His private practice is based in the Larchmont area of Los Angeles and his clients range from former gang members he sees as a volunteer therapist at Homeboy Industries to lawyers and other professionals.  https://www.tomhenningtherapy.com/
