About My Therapy

Personal Statement
Strength based, relational, non-judgement therapy space using art and talk therapy to explore the events both positive and challenging that have impacted your life story. Art and/or writing can help us re-experience your narrative and find new meaning in events of your life. Visioning where you want to go and creating a roadmap of how to get there can be helpful with an accepting witness by your side.
Personal Statement - Sponsor
The best part of giving and receiving therapy is the reminder that none of us are alone. Often our problem becomes manageable when we allow others to support us through our struggles and we remain compassionate toward ourselves instead of criticizing. When we focus on what is Strong and now just what is wrong we take control of journey again. Road blocks become speed bumps and our achievements that much sweeter!
Board Member Bio
Two years after graduating Notre Dame de Namur University I earned my LMFT license and Art Therapy board certification (2018). I immediately went looking for a community that could light the way to building my own private practice. After attending a CAMFT conference I learned of the local chapter SCV-CAMFT and a "Newly Licensed Support Group" by Della Fernandes. It was Della who convinced me to get used to and provide teletherapy even though I had no interest in doing so! I had no idea the implications that advise would provide when less than a year later my in-person clients and I would be forced to pivot during a worldwide pandemic. That guidance and so many other wisdoms shared to me meant a year into my practice I could go full time and quit my second job. Now my practice is 3 years old and I have expanded to a group practice. A major factor in my success in developing as a business owner and my continued professional development has been my membership in SCV and the support group. I am pleased to join the board in the position as Director of Support Groups to give back. My favorite quote is, "There are two ways of spreading the light; to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it." Using art therapy and play with clients of all ages and their families I am able to be the mirror that reflects their own inherent uniqueness and shine! When I am not nerding out over art, therapy, and Psychotherapy Networker magazine I can be found spending time with family, traveling, collaging, day dreaming, journaling, trying new restaurants, or seeing the latest superhero movie!
