Personal Statement
I graduated from Santa Clara University in 2018 with a MA in Counseling Psychology. I am employed by Family Matters Counseling Services where I enjoy working with individuals and couples. From my traineeship in bereavement work with Pathways Hospice, I am experienced in grief, loss, death, and dying. My work with clients is heavily inspired by the 15 plus years I spent in individual therapy with Jungian therapists. I feel deeply connected to psychodynamic depth work and enjoy working with symbols and images in session, as well as with client's dreams. I draw from Gottman trainings when working with couples, and have recently begun incorporating Brainspotting in my practice. As a cancer survivor, and as someone who came to the mental health world from a previous 18 year career in engineering, my practice is also informed by my personal life experiences.
