Board Member Bio
Liz (she/they) is a first-generation Associate Marriage and Family Therapist based in San Jose, specializing in trauma recovery, identity development, and navigating life transitions. Liz earned a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco. Currently, Liz works at Era Center, a group practice dedicated to serving survivors of sexual violence. She is passionate about supporting the LGBTQ+ community, athletes, first responders, and individuals healing from trauma. With the grit to hold the weight of her clients’ experiences and the heart to honor moments of lightness, connection, and humor, Liz approaches every session with authenticity and care.

As Director of Membership for SCV-CAMFT, Liz is focused on creating a culture of care and belonging, ensuring therapists feel supported and empowered in their personal and professional growth. Her experience facilitating the LGBTQ+ therapist support group and serving as a professional advisor for the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) reflects her ongoing efforts to foster community care and advocate for meaningful change and collective healing within our community.

Outside of work, Liz embraces balance—one minute, she's in the dojo practicing taekwondo or hitting the trails for a hike, and the next, she's at home crocheting and cuddling with her two cats. As a proud cat mama, Liz knows how to keep active while also fully appreciating the art of chilling out.
