Are you interested in leading an experiential online event with other chapter members? If so, send an email to mail@scv-camft.org.

Due to time limitations there is a limit of 10 participants. If it is full, you will be put on a waiting list.

If you register and can't attend, PLEASE cancel your registration so someone else can join.

Phyllis Klein, LCSW, and Certified Poetry Therapist, will lead an experiential workshop on Zoom about the therapeutic use of poetry with groups. No creative writing experience is needed. We will read a poem, discuss reactions, and respond to writing prompts. Any form of writing in response to the poem is fine. There will be time for some people who want to share their writing to get honest positive feedback from the group.

Phyllis requests (this is optional) that you send her (therapy@phyllisklein.com) a poem that has influenced you in your life. She will create a document that includes all the poems she receives for your own use or to use with clients. You can continue to add to the list. In difficult times, poetry can help us with powerful images, soothing rhythms, and truth telling.

Hope to see you on July 17th but you don’t have to attend to have your poem included in the “Poetry that Influenced Me” project.

About the Presenter

In addition to a long career as a psychotherapist with a private practice specializing in trauma, Phyllis Klein has focused her creative energies into poetry. In addition to continuing to hone her clinical skills, she has combined the study of poetic craft with the personal benefit of writing for healing which has culminated in the publication of her first book, The Full Moon Herald. It’s a poetic newspaper filled with real and personal news stories. As a therapist, revealing personal information to the public was initially quite a challenge, but has been a very rewarding experience. Phyllis also facilitates a therapeutic writing group that currently meets on Zoom.

We look forward to seeing you there!
