This monthly support group is open to all members who identify as bilingual Spanish speakers, Latinx and/or Hispanic. Its purpose is to create a supportive, connective and fun space for Latinx/Hispanic identifying therapists to share resources, connect through experiences, explore common challenges/interests as well as exchange ideas. The hope is to share knowledge and validate our struggles and lived experiences to cultivate community and collective resiliency.
This group is free of charge for SCV-CAMFT members, and open to non-members, who can attend 2 meetings before joining the chapter. This group typically meets the third Tuesday of the month from 12:00pm-1:30pm.
Rosario A. Puga-Dempsey is a Mexican-American therapist who works with couples as well as children and individuals. She specializes in trauma, grief, life transitions and cultural issues. Rosario came to this country at a young age and brings a wealth of cultural and linguistic knowledge. Through her lived experiences she can deeply understand the challenges that many of our Spanish speaking/Latinx clients face. She has worked in various agencies and schools in the county and has been in private practice for the past 3 years.
NOTE: Download and read this document before attending a group meeting. If no one shows up after 15 minutes the group will be cancelled.
