This is a peer support group for therapists who are 55+. The mission of this support group is to provide an opportunity for personal and/or professional growth in our later years. It is open to anyone who is:

  • Retired
  • About to retire or slowing down
  • Re-imagining or transitioning your practice to accommodate who you are becoming
  • Wanting to share life wisdom and space with similar others
  • Building a network of senior therapists

This group is for chapter members who want to:

  • Seek and provide support
  • Exchange ideas and resources
  • Explore challenges and opportunities
  • Continue growing professionally

Non-members are welcome to attend two of our support groups before joining the chapter.

This group typically meets the first Monday of each month from 5:00 - 6:30 PM. We meet online, and might meet in person sometimes. Links will be provided when you register. For questions, send an email to mail@scv-camft.org.

About the Facilitators

Liliana Ramos, LMFT enjoys working with adults, couples, and children. She works with trauma, anxiety, and relationships and is certified in trauma, Developmental Model Level 2, and Gottman Level 2, as well as sexual issues that may appear to be a challenge. She uses a combination of play therapy and CBT with children. Liliana has been successful in assisting clients with their struggles. As a military veteran and immigrant, she has insight into the complexities of their experiences.

Alex Mackenzie, LMFT has been licensed for 32 years. He has worked integrating behavioral health within primary care, and maintaining a private practice. Alex's first career was as a software engineer. His clinical interests include relationship therapy including LGBTQI, Interracial partnerships, and poly relationships, and has learned a lot about the tech-immigrant culture. He is working on developing approaches for "Third Act" or "Mid-Adult" stage planning and thriving.

SCV-CAMFT support groups are a resource for our community, and not therapy groups, training, or supervision, and are not eligible for continuing education credit.

Download and read this document before attending a group meeting. If no one shows up after 15 minutes the group will be cancelled.
