We are seeking an exceptionally articulate and passionate Pre-Licensed Associate Therapist (Registered in California with AMFT, APCC, or ASW) to join Therapy for Every Body (www.Therapy4EveryBody.com). The successful applicant will both have the qualifications and be excited to work with children of all ages, teens, adults, couples, and families.
Applicants must be registered in California. This position is available in Santa Clara, Morgan Hill, San Jose and Fremont CA. Pay is $730.00 - $1,575.00 per week.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Independently the Associate Therapist is responsible for providing individual and group therapy to Practice clients. Incumbent is also responsible for various clinical and administrative tasks and activities including but not limited to coordination of client scheduling, clinical assessment, treatment planning, conducting therapy sessions, completing all required documentation, and supporting the goals of the client and the Practice.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Complete Biopsychosocial Spiritual Assessment and diagnosis for every assigned client.
- Conduct and complete all scheduled therapy sessions with assigned clients.
- Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with Practice policies and procedures.
- Responsible for ongoing monitoring of client progress, goals, and clinical interventions.
- Perform appointment planning to find consistent day/time opening for clients that align as conveniently as possible with the client’s schedules.
- Manage assigned client scheduling to include initial scheduling, cancellations and rescheduling of clients ensuring communication with client is completed and the EHR is updated per policies and procedures.
- Responsible for timely scheduling and execution of meetings with the client’s medical team, other therapists, the client’s psychiatrist, and other providers.
- Provide timely and professional communication with clients.
- Prepare for, facilitate, and lead various meetings as required and appropriate including but not limited to consultation sessions, parent meetings, doctor or therapist meetings, and with coworkers.
- Attend, actively participate in, and contribute to the group supervision, triadic or individual supervision, and semi-monthly Practice team meetings.
- Regularly review and document treatment goals and progress with clients.
- Conduct suicide assessments when appropriate and respond accordingly.
- Coordinate care with other medical and therapeutic providers, such as psychiatrists, primary care physicians, other therapists, and prescribers.
- Close and archive clients who have terminated therapy.
- Send termination notices via email to clients who have disengaged from therapy with the Practice.
- Responsible for checking the EHR to confirm if intake documents are filled and for contacting the client in advance of the first session to ensure completion.
- Execute communication protocols when a client appointment is impacted by lateness, cancellation, or rescheduling.
- Responsible for timely scheduling and execution of meetings with parents and collaterals as appropriate.
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Responsible for timely and accurate completion and submission of Board of Behavioral Science logs for review, approval and signing.
- Responsible for tracking and reporting all hours worked in the Practice’s designated system.
- Communicate with office after consultations with feedback about whether client wants to proceed or other next steps.
- Responsible for the management of crisis situations, following established Practice policies and procedures to include notifying your supervisor and responding to client.
- Perform and provide assessments in support of gender affirming care letters.
- Keep office space and shared spaces including kitchen, closet, break area, and waiting area tidy and well-stocked.
- Carries out duties in compliance with all federal and state regulations and guidelines.
- Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
- Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
- Remains current in profession and industry trends.
- Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated by: making suggestions for improvement and learning new skills, procedures and processes.
- Is available for other duties as required.
- Is available for overtime as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in counseling psychology, social work, or specific field required for registration.
- Registered in California with Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APPC), or Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW).
- Must be available for a minimum of 15 client sessions per week with an expectation to increase to 25 client sessions per week.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and standard operating procedure manuals.
- Demonstrate effective written communication skills, consistently utilizing professional language to document client progress, create treatment plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a clear, concise, and ethical manner.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES OR QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiar with operational practices of a clinical counseling center.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local licensing obligations and requirements.
- Knowledge of the limitations and scope of services that can be provided based on credentialing obtained.
- Familiar with appropriate and compliant clinical documentation practices.
- Demonstrate effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate experience working effectively independently using time management to complete all assigned duties and responsibilities.
- Computer skills:
- Work and be proficient with Google workspace: drive, docs, sheets, and Gmail.
- Work and be proficient with Electronic Health Records systems (e.g. TBA).
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining speed of work and attention to detail without loss to production.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
