Like all non-profit groups, SCV-CAMFT is always in need of volunteers. We need volunteers to survive and to thrive. If you are inspired to join our team of dedicated and giving volunteers, please read about the opportunities below.
Here is a list of some current needs. If you have a skill that you want to use to support our mission, please contact us and we'll find a place for you - firstname.lastname@example.org or 408-721-2010. If you need some inspiration, read this great article about the many benefits we get from volunteering!
Help Us Bring Great Programs to Our Members
Join a program committee. Members can be involved in whatever capacity and time commitment that works for them. We seek members to develop ideas for virtual and in-person events, dynamic speakers and presentations, and social events for members. As we return to in-person events, we will need help with planning and help at the events. Please reach out to Vanessa Ventura at email@example.com.
Membership on the SCV-CAMFT
board of directors provides
an opportunity to shape our chapter while fostering deep community with
your colleagues. The board of directors is a “governing”
board, responsible for creating the vision, mission, values, and
policies for the chapter and ensuring that the principles and finances
are properly managed. Board members are expected to attend 11 monthly
meetings, the annual membership meeting, two planning sessions, the
annual CAMFT Chapter Leadership Conference and as many luncheons as your
schedule permits throughout your term. We ask for a 2 year commitment.
Send an email to Dominique Yarritu at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions about serving on the board. Board position descriptions
SCV-CAMFT News is published throughout the year. Volunteers can help with writing articles, editing articles, or taking photos at our events to put in the newsletter.
Luncheon Committee Chairs
We currently have two
luncheon committee chair positions; the mid-region and the south region.
Luncheon chairs are responsible for the luncheons in their region by
working with the luncheon committee to recruit speakers, organize the
venue, and attend the events.
Luncheon Committee Members
Luncheon committees members help plan our events. They help the
luncheon committee chair recruit speakers, organize the venues,
and help with registration. Volunteers get discounts on the luncheons and
free CEUs. One-time volunteering is an option as well.
Workshop Committee Chair and Members
Help set up and organize
our day long workshops, assist with checking in registrants, and help
with cleaning up after the event. Volunteers get discounted
registration. Our workshops include a summer workshop and our law and ethics workshop in the fall.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee
Work with our director of diversity to expand the chapters reach and influence in regard to DEI efforts.
