Welcome to the Santa Clara Valley Chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. Serving as your 2026 President continues to be both an honor and a privilege, especially during this season of the year when time seems to move faster than ever.

As we move into the heart of summer, many of us are balancing full caseloads, family responsibilities, travel, transitions, and the ongoing demands of caring for others. Mid-year often arrives before we realize it, reminding us how important it is to pause, reset, and reconnect with ourselves and with one another. In a profession centered around relationships and healing, community matters deeply. We are not meant to do this work in isolation.

SCV-CAMFT continues to thrive because of this incredible community, our licensed and pre-licensed clinicians, workshop facilitators and presenters, mentors, volunteers, and advocates who generously share their time, expertise, and compassion. Together, we create spaces where professionals can grow, feel supported, and build meaningful connections throughout every stage of their careers.

This season also serves as an important reminder that balance is not something we achieve once, but something we intentionally return to again and again. Whether through peer connection, consultation, continuing education, networking events, or simply gathering together in community, our chapter exists to support not only professional development, but also human connection and collective well-being.

As we continue through 2026, I am excited for the opportunities ahead, from educational workshops and leadership development to social gatherings and support groups that strengthen our sense of belonging within the chapter. Our commitment to inclusivity, collaboration, and shared learning remains at the center of everything we do.

In all that we pursue together, we remain grounded in our mission: to educate and inspire, uphold the highest standards of ethical practice, and foster healthy relationships within our communities and within our profession itself.

Thank you for being part of SCV-CAMFT and for the care, presence, and dedication you bring to this community. I look forward to continuing to grow alongside all of you this year, as colleagues, as advocates, and as a connected community supporting one another through both the busy seasons and the moments when we pause to reset and reconnect.

Sincerely,

Amanda Cortez, LMFT
