South Region Luncheon (1.5 CEUs available)
Presented by Suma Singh, MD
Board Certified, Addiction Medicine Fellow, Integrative Medicine
We hear a lot about opioid epidemic in the national news, but how does it pertain to us locally? Therapists are often the first point of contact for people with a substance use disorder. Get updated information on what's happening in our very own neighborhoods, local resources for your clients, and prevention efforts currently going on. The session will also include a brief training on naloxone for opioid overdose prevention. We will talk about evidence based treatments (medication, therapy, and community support) and current standard of care for substance abuse treatment.
