Beth Proudfoot, MFT is the Founder of the Child & Family Counseling Group, Inc., in San Jose, CA and has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1985, with a focus on children and parents.. She is a trained mediator as well as a trained collaborative communications coach and child specialist. She is the Author of the Trailblazing Parenting Audio and Video Series and co-author of “The Magic of Positive Parenting,” (Blackstone Audio).
Kim Ives Hicks, MFT is a nationally Certified Group Psychotherapist,and also offers individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy. Group therapy is my specialty. She has been leading groups for 18 years, and studied under the supervision of Dr. Irvin Yalom, the leading scholar and author. Kim is passionate about guiding clients toward deeper self understanding to strengthen the best parts of themselves and lead richer, fuller lives.

Amanda Cortez, owner of the group practice Yes to Therapy, facilitates your discovery around what you didn't learn in grad school about building a successful practice. This includes the numbers, the people, the markets, the resources, and the mindset for any stage of development of your mental health business. Each monthly meeting will be a chance to get support from your colleagues about being business savvy, breaking through your own barriers, learning about specific development-related topics, getting your questions answered, and contributing your own ideas and experience. Amanda is the owner and founder of Yes To Therapy, a mental health service collective, specializing in individual, marriage, and family therapy, and enjoys collaborating with other therapists who are eager to advance their careers. This monthly support group is created to offer a warm, supportive and safe place for Asian Pacific Islander (API) therapists - including pre-licensed trainees, associate therapists and licensed therapists - to connect, support each other and explore shared interests. As a group we will collectively cultivate a sense of belonging, validate our challenges as well as resilience as healing professionals, celebrate and explore our cultures and intersectionality, and hold space for our voice, healing and vitality. Jia Rebecca Li: Rebecca specializes in couple therapy as well as in addressing relational, life transition and cultural issues with individuals and families. Rebecca has trainings in multiple couple therapy approaches and extensive training in Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy and offers sessions in both English and Mandarin. Rebecca is a first-generation immigrant from China, and prior to psychotherapy, built a career in business and law for two decades in the U.S. and Asia. These lived experiences have helped her deeply understand the challenges facing many of her couple/family clients. Jim graduated with a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in 1997. Liliana Ramos, LMFT enjoys working with adults, couples, and children. She works with trauma, anxiety, and relationships and is certified in trauma, Developmental Model Level 2, and Gottman Level 2, as well as sexual issues that may appear to be a challenge. She uses a combination of play therapy and CBT with children. Liliana has been successful in assisting clients with their struggles. As a military veteran and immigrant, she has insight into the complexities of their experiences.
Alex Mackenzie, LMFT has been licensed for 32 years. He has worked integrating behavioral health within primary care, and maintaining a private practice. Alex's first career was as a software engineer. His clinical interests include relationship therapy including LGBTQI, Interracial partnerships, and poly relationships, and has learned a lot about the tech-immigrant culture. He is working on developing approaches for "Third Act" or "Mid-Adult" stage planning and thriving.
This monthly support group is open to all members who identify as bilingual Spanish speakers, Latinx and/or Hispanic. Its purpose is to create a supportive, connective and fun space for Latinx/Hispanic identifying therapists to share resources, connect through experiences, explore common challenges/interests as well as exchange ideas. The hope is to share knowledge and validate our struggles and lived experiences to cultivate community and collective resiliency.

Rosario A. Puga-Dempsey is a Mexican-American therapist who works with couples as well as children and individuals. She specializes in trauma, grief, life transitions and cultural issues. Rosario came to this country at a young age and brings a wealth of cultural and linguistic knowledge. Through her lived experiences she can deeply understand the challenges that many of our Spanish speaking/Latinx clients face. She has worked in various agencies and schools in the county and has been in private practice for the past 3 years.

Nasrin is a licensed Marriage Family Therapist. She graduated from University of San Francisco with a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology in 2002. Upon graduation from USF, Nasrin enrolled in a PhD program in clinical psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute where she completed the core curriculum and gained an appreciation for Jungian psychology. In her spare time Nasrin studies Rumi.
Cindy is a licensed Marriage Family Therapist and has been in private practice since 2001 in both Pacific Grove and San Jose. Being semi-retired, she wants to stay connected to peers by offering support within our CAMFT community. She has a specialty in aging and grief/loss and has taught Experiential Sand-tray Therapy since 2005.

Liz Ojeda (she/they) is a Queer, Mexican-American therapist. Liz has worked with children, youth and families impacted by various forms of violence. She specializes in trauma and transition, identity development, alongside navigating institutional challenges and oppression. They have a particular interest in working with survivors of IPV/DV, QTIPOC Transitional Aged Youth (18-24 y/o), and First Generation Students. Liz currently works with the group practice, Era Center, serving survivors of sexual trauma and impacted communities through the provision of psychotherapy, outreach education, and consultation.
